I recently tuned into a fascinating podcast on YouTube, “RIP SEO: Here’s What Works Now in an AI World” by the legendary duo Eric Siu and Neil Patel. As a digital marketer having my own Digital Marketing agency, I couldn’t miss the opportunity to hear their take on the evolving role of SEO in a world increasingly driven by AI and changing consumer behavior. We Digital Marketers also encounter AI indirectly on most of the platforms. Given Below are the some Key takeaways which I am sharing through this Blog titled Search Everywhere Optimization – The New SEO
Search Everywhere Optimization – The New SEO – The Neil Patel way
📌 SEO is now termed as Search Everywhere Optimization– Before advent of Social Media it was only Google and other search engines to search your queries. As Social Media started gaining popularity mainly Facebook & Instagram and now AI Tools like Chat GPT, perplexity & Gemini people have resorted to these channels to search their queries. Interesting Data shared by Neil Patel in this regard “In 2020 around 98% People used Google to search their queries but in 2024 percentage has dropped down to 61. AI ChatBots accounts for 31% & Social Media accounts for 17% queries search. ”
📌 Another Important Takeaway – An average person uses around 6 Social Media platforms
📌 YouTube – No. 2 Search Engine – The biggest opportunity in the next decade. With its massive reach and engaging format, YouTube presents one of the biggest growth opportunities in the next decade. If you’re not leveraging YouTube, you’re leaving money on the table.
📌 Community is the new SEO
There was another important point which was shared during the podcast featuring Eric Siu and Neil Patel. Communities like Hubspot, Reddit, and Quora provides user generated content which many find trustworthy than the AI generated content. Community also builds brand loyalty. Also, some in your organization should be involved regularly on those communities. Therefore in the future building authentic communities like Skool, Circle will be more valuable than ranking on the first page in Google.
📌 Search Everywhere Optimization – The New SEO – Content still reigns supreme
Neil Patel emphasized beautifully during the podcast that Content still reigns supreme. High-quality, value-driven & human written content is important even today in the age of AI. This doesn’t mean that AI should be neglected, in fact the balance between Ai & Human content should be the backbone of any SEO effort
📌 KPIs & AI Agents
Currently people are using lot of AI but not using their KPIs i.e. Key Performance indicators . AI agents will now come into the picture. Example of Agent at play is beautifully explained by the dynamic duo of Eric Siu and Neil Patel during their conversation. In the future, AI agents will handle processes, while humans focus on strategy. But here’s a key takeaway: Don’t forget KPIs. Aligning AI workflows with revenue-generating goals is non-negotiable.
📌 Future of marketing – You will have lot of smart talent in your team and they will be armed by 1000s of AI agents for increased efficiency.
📌 Chat GPT has come up as a channel. So if you are not optimizing these platforms you are missing on the Revenue. This was another important takeaway mentioned by Neil Patel during the Podcast.
📌 Changing Trend of Digital Marketing for Businesses
Earlier people you used to invest a lot on organic social. But now people are getting lot of revenue from tools like SEO, Paid Ads & Influencer Marketing. Majority of the internet spends on Google Ads, Facebook, Instagram, Amazon & YouTube
Search Everywhere Optimization – The New SEO – Featuring Smart Fridge
📌 In the next 10 years people will be searching using voice search due to AI integration. Also, searches will be everywhere with the concept like “Smart Fridge”
📌 US Elections campaign – Neil Patel also brought the recently concluded US Election campaign during the Podcast. Candidates spent more on podcasting than on traditional marketing which will be a trend henceforth. On one of the Podcast Donald Trump got 44 million views on YouTube which are very hard to get on National Television.
